Brick is so common a building material as to be easily overlooked in the survey of historic building materials, but it is so ubiquitous that to ignore it would be misleading. The following brick restoration and repair projects are representative of the issues we face when dealing with this widely used material.

Built in the early years of the building boom in Los Angeles that propelled a young city to more established and refined conditions. the Boyle Hotel was one of the first luxury hotels in the young city.

The Santa Fe Depot in Barstow required careful selective removal and reinstallation of the brick and cast stone towers due to earthquake damage.

This former shoe polish factory had the good bones for an adaptive re-use as a clean, well-lighted place for architecture and design.
